Afghanistan: War for the sake of War

Posted on 06. Oct, 2009 by nostraboris in 24 hr Cable News BS, Barack Obama

Did I overestimate Barack Obama’s abilities to walk the walk? I believed our guy would bang the hottest chick at the party, but in stead he’s about to pass out and get his picture taken with a testicle- draped forehead.

Claiming change is one thing, but rolling with big dogs like Insurance Companies and the Military Industrial Complex is another.

First the Public Option was all but abandoned after complaints from big Insurance. Now that we, the primitive majority, chase our processed food with some high fructose corn syrup,  America is about to be cleverly coaxed into escalating the Afghanistan war.

The story presented on 24hr cable news is ominous:

(Old school broadcasting voice:)

“Outnumbered U.S. soldiers are desperately calling for backup!  Will their sacrifice be in vain? What will Obama do? Will he support the brave troops, or will he surrender, and hand over a moral victory to the perpetrators of 9-11?”

The USA has been in Afghanistan almost as long as the Soviet Union. Osama Bin laden and Mullah Omar still run the place. As with Iraq,  they tell us, the gullible consumers, that our soldiers serve as target practice for the Taliban (who never attacked us  outside of their country) so the guys that did attack us (Al Qaida) won’t do it again.

Off course the Generals want more troops. Like with Iraq, we can even bribe insurgents and call the reduced violence victory.

If Obama sends 45,000 more troops he will own the Afghanistan war, which in return will own him. As he cleans out his desk in 2012, he will be scratching his head and wonder why he decided the occupation of a vast, hostile pile of rubble that chewed and spit up Ghengis Kahn, The British Empire, and the Soviet Union was such a great idea.
